Artist Recording.
A space to create music of any genre.
Designed for the creation of music of any genre, OCS feels good for both artists and producers. One of our in-house engineers will be on-hand to help capture your ideas. Learn more about hiring our Bristol recording studio here.
Podcasts.
Record quality audio in style.
Our semi-partitioned studio space lends itself perfectly to recording podcasts or voice work in Bristol. The producer or engineer is able to sit at the desk away from the artist, whilst maintaining a line of sight.
Our comfortable leather seating allows you to record in comfort and style, while our Shure SM7B’s are the perfect mic’s for the job. Find out more about our Bristol podcast studio here.
Mixing.
A space designed for comfort.
We’re located in the basement of the Old Stock Exchange, which has been acoustically treated to isolate the control room for mixing and production. The space is designed to feel comfortable and airy, so mix engineers can spend hours at the desk with ease.
The control room environment has accurate monitoring, whilst also segregating the room to create a “live room” or chill out area on the other side. The wall is only 5ft high, ensuring an open feel for the engineer.
The concrete sub-floor features a 32mm floating acoustic floor (N2000F), reducing vibration transfer throughout the room.
Production.
An intimate and stylish environment for recording and producing.
Our studio sports just the right amount of outboard equipment for producers that desire the adaptability of modern recording combined with the warmth of vintage analogue circuitry. Our patchbay has been designed with a visually intuitive workflow and our studio computer has a range of industry standard plug-ins to suit your production needs.
Ideal for working with songwriters or pre-production sessions, OCS provides a quiet oasis within the busy city centre to enhance creativity and ensure you produce the best results in your required timeframe.

Old City Studio provides a dedicated space to make and play music. Our space is suitable for small rehearsals, auditions and read throughs. Whether you’re practicing for a show or just want to have a jam – OCS is the perfect setting. Complete with PA system, a range of amps, drum kit and even a real piano, it is also ideal for those without the facilities to let loose at home.
OCS is a private space designed for musicians to feel comfortable and practice undisturbed. A home away from home for artists of all disciplines. Learn more about our rehearsal studios Bristol here.
Personal practice or teaching.
Work on your musicianship undisturbed.
The cosy and private nature of our studio lends itself well to personal practice. It’s ideal for those who wish to work on their musicianship in a soundproofed room, undisturbed.
A second work station with Apple iMac and PA speakers allows for research and playback without having to fire up the full desk. Or just plug in your phone and play along.
Our house drum shell/hardware, acoustic piano and amplifiers mean you don’t have to worry about lugging your equipment around.
We offer discounts to solo people using the space without the recording equipment. This includes use as a one-on-one teaching space.
